Throughout history, Ireland has held many naked sweathouses.

In the 17th Century, many saunas- made simply, out of stone and clay- were in use throughout the island, as a means of curing various illnesses and ailments. Their remains lie dotted around the rural landscape today.

These sweathouses, though numerous, cause great debate. Some experts believe that they were formed out of the remnants of earlier fulacht fiadhs - cooking pits, where communities would gather to roast animals, a practice dating back to the Bronze Age.

Irish Language experts also believe that the etymology of this old word 'Fulacht' leads us back to not just cooking pits, but also the term 'Support.'

At Fulacht Sauna, we are reaching back in time to our deepest roots, and establishing a modern sweathouse, with top-of-the-range, world's-best equipment, and a passion for the sauna and cold plunge experience.

We provide a supportive sanctuary for relaxation, rejuvenation, and holistic well-being.

Step into the ancient Irish world of heat therapy, and embark on a journey to total mind-body wellness.
